    When I buy things, I do it as a gift, comes straight from my card, My PayPal balance doesn't come into it.

    Same. You can opt to have it come out of your paypal balance though if you prefer.

    I get it now. So you can opt to buy things through your debit card, but you can't opt to have things go straight to your card if you are receiving money unless you have your bank account set up.

    When I withdraw money from Paypal, it usually takes me no more than an hour although usually instant. I think it may be after so many transactions as it used to take quite a few days.

    On occasion it will coem straight from your bank but I've had it happen numerous times when someone was paying me or I was paying them with 0$ in the bank and it takes 1-2 weeks to clear.
