    Megaupload down

MEGAUPLOAD was deactivated and its employees indicted for piracy

    OMG OMG OMG
    IT'S THE END, THE END.
    MORE INFO SOON, WAIT.

    EDIT:

According to the site techtudo, Perfect 10, a site that sells adult material, won a major court battle against Megaupload, file-sharing site now accused of being the largest distributor of pirated content on the web.

Initially, the judge of a regional staff in the United States, refused to Perfect 10's complaint that the Megaupload would be responsible for copyright infringement directly collaborative.

The site of adult content have argued that the Megaupload allows and encourages its users to upload materials paid, giving the opportunity to be widely distributed. Since it was not possible to prove that the profit-sharing site that can win with pornographic material are high enough, the charges were denied.

The Megaupload came to respond to that Perfect 10 is just a storage service with no responsibility for the conduct of users. But the Judge Irma Gonzalez, Southern California, disagreed with the position and allowed the case to go ahead.

"The Megaupload is much more than a passive service and an enterprise of simple file storage. Sub-sites were created different, just to encourage users to send different types of media. The reward programs also end up encouraging Internet users to send large amounts of data, "said Gonzalez.

"There is provision of payment to affiliate sites, the URLs to spread throughout the Internet and, moreover, a complete catalog with all the available files. It is at least plausible to understand how rampant sharing violation that occurs on this site" he explains.

    OTHER EDIT: READ

Decision was made in Virginia site and is accused of violating copyright laws.

Federal prosecutors in Virginia have just closed one of the largest file-sharing sites in the world, Megaupload, on charges that the company violates the copyright laws.

In addition, all employees of the company were indicted for their alleged crimes. The lawsuit accuses Megaupload for failing to pay more than $ 500 million in royalties from films and other content.

The move comes just a day after a series of protests against SOPA, a bill that could jeopardize the freedom of expression on the Internet. The Megaupload is one of the 15 most popular sites in the world. Representatives of the vehicle has not expressed an opinion on the subject. More information about the case soon.
