Woah okay. You're being really generous here. It's one thing to do it out of the goodness of your heart, but it's another thing that she's forcing you to pay it. I agree with the others - it would probably be a good idea to move out, maybe try to settle somewhere, open your own savings account and save some of that money. It's definitely unfair that you're still a student but also a young adult and have to end up forking over the majority of your earnings to your parents. :x

Like I said guys: if I could i would move out! I love you all for the support <3

I don't have a car, and if I moved, I'd live with my boyfriend. Our work schedules conflict so I wouldn't have a way to get to work at times. :/ Plus he lives 20 miles away from my work so if like he got off work at 4 and I started my shift at 4...well...yeah that couldn't happen. D:

There's no chance of having a friend maybe drive you a bit until you are able to snag a clunker to get around :c?

I feel for you about the rent, I was paying $200 month plus groceries when I was 17. It was hard as hell to move out on my own, then when I had to move back home later I was expected to pay $400 a month. Is there a friend who'd let you couch hop for a bit? If boyfriend is okay with you staying with him occasionally till you get a car?

My father kicked me out five minutes after I graduated bc his girlfriend is a cunt. As much as having to fork over your hard earned money is, at least you have a roof over your head and transportation. The only thing you really can do is wait it out until you're able to save up enough money to make it on your own.

    Do you have a plan?
Do you expect things to change for you in the near future?

If you don't, then nothing's going to change.

They're your parents and all, but they are they and you are you, your own person. You run your own life, you tried to work it for them too, but it didn't work. So are you going to let them drag you into the fire with you? Sometimes you have to just run for yourself. Better to have 1/3 survivors, rather than 0/3.

They should've, they had their own chance to fix themselves. Maybe they still can, either by themselves or government assistance. What I do know is you've babied them for too long and they haven't found a need to fix themselves - by themselves.

    ---

If you must, take care of your mom. She's your mom, and paying for 1 other adult is better than both, yes? Your step-dad sounds like a douche, do you really want to be paying for him too?

Tell your mom to start looking for ways on her own. Know that you're going to bail eventually, and you WILL leave.

Live frugally, eat frugally, save up for a working beater (of a car). Perfectly usable, fine ecocars like 2000s Civics and Corollas can be had for 1-2.5k. Sound like a lot? remember the part about living frugally, and maybe ask for more work hours.
