    Crazy old dog owner lady..

A few months ago, we were give our dog, Remi by this lady who was moving to Arizona.
She gave up both Remi and his sister, since French Bulldogs don't do well in the heat...

She was calling us the first week, telling my bfs mom that she thinks she made a mistake and wants him back. After 3 calls of that, we started to ignore her.
Apparently the place she is living accepts pets.. She's STILL in Arizona though.
She called again today and said the same crap. And she STILL doesn't want his sister, only him..

What should we do? Bfs mom thinks she might make a lawsuit out of it.
He's so comfortable here, he even has little doggy friends too now.

Eh, if I were you I'd ignore her too. You've had the dog for months, and it's so easy to get attached to animals so I couldn't imagine having to give him back. She gave you the dog, he's yours now. You're not obligated to give him back.

She's fucking crazy. This poor guy was depressed for a few weeks, he'd barely eat anything and wouldn't play with us when she gave him to us. Now he gets so freakin excited when anyone comes over or when we're out walking and he sees another dog, he starts wagging his butt. (it's so stinking cute!)

I told my bfs mom, that I'll tell her to fuck off next time she calls bugging us.

A lawsuit? How is that a valid case? She deliberately gave over ownership of the dog. If you are really attached to them and are set on keeping them, don't worry about it. There isn't anything that can be done after she has already readopted them out. The most the court would probably say is that it was abandonment on her part and that it would be wrong to strip the dog of its new surroundings especially if its well being is better off with you than her.

Keep the dog. I doubt the crazy lady can make a convincing lawsuit out of that anyways.

@(you need an account to see links): I agree with this. By the way you described, it sounds like he felt a bit neglected or even abandonment. All you'd have to do if it ever came up in court was describe his behavioral changes from when he was with her, to how he is with you and I'm sure that'd be the fastest way out of it.
