Has anyone here been to Italy? Or is anyone from Italy?

I'm going for 2 weeks for vacation, and my parents seem to think people don't wear shorts there... Any advice on what to pack? I know it's hot there, but what should I pack to wear? HELP!!

I went during the winter time (weather worked out great for us), but I've heard it can get very hot during the summer.

Italians, basically europeans, have such style. I'm assuming you're from the U.S.? It's so easy to distinguish the americans from the italians, bring some stylish clothes.
Of course there were ppl who wore shorts... why would Italians not lolol.

BE CAREFUL OF THE PICK POCKETERS/Thiefs/ Gypsies! Ridiculous..., be a smart tourist.

    Italy was amazing.

@(you need an account to see links) I know! Yeah I'm from Florida haha, I've been to Spain, England, and Scotland, so I know they all dress nicer than people do here. If I bring cute tops, could I wear them with jean shorts? I know in the Vatican I have to wear a dress or something that goes past my knees and covers my shoulders... Any other tips? Thank you for the help

sorry, shouldn't ask me for fashion advice.
Tips... idk if it's like this in Spain, England, and Scotland, but IT FREAKIN COST MONEY TO GO TO THE BATHROOM. So try to do your business as much as you can before you leave the hotel.

Also, water no free in Italy :| wth, if you're thirsty they offer $4 sparkling water.

Oh yeah everything in Italy is $$$$$$$.

I have ; you're most likely going to be obviously American, so attire won't matter much
@(you need an account to see links) is right--be wary of pickpockets! Gypsies haven't been as much as a problem as the warnings would lead you believe in my experience, but I've had a wallet walk off once.
Do you know where you're going ^_^?

I saw a ton of people wearing shorts and it can get really hot there, so don't feel bad. Italy gets a ton of tourists this time of year so you won't be sticking out. xD But yeah, you will be turned away from the Vatican if your shorts/dress are above the knee.

If you're planning on visiting Rome there are lots of water fountains there that provide amazing, crystal clear free water at all times. Just bring a big bottle or two and fill them up whenever you come around a fountain.

I didn't go to Tuscany while I was there, but definitely spend more time at Rome. We only spent 1-2 days, wasn't enough.

Florence and Venice were amazing, both are my top favorites. Spend some money for a gondola ride in Venice.

You have to get Gelato in Italy, it beats any ice cream here.
