Should be 23 cuz damn girl u gonna kill somebody
We have some debates going in our class and this was one of the topics.
Wanted to hear some opinions.
I know this is quite random but relevant to most of us who are drivers.
To be honest, I'm all for raising the driving age.
There was no way I was ready to operate heavy machinery at 16.

Hmmm, I think the driving age should be 18.
Mostly because I know when I was 16, I'd probably be x10 more reckless than I am now
But I think that they associated the driving age at 16 due to the fact that you can start working legally at around 16 (15.5 with work permit), at least I know that's how it is in California. o:
Realistically, if we want to talk biological and psychological preparedness for the responsibility of driving, 18 should be minimum. The decision making parts of the brain aren't fully developed until your early 20s (huzzah for my brain being fully developed!), meaning that you're less likely to put yourself or others in risky situations. Insurance companies go with 25 for a reason.
I think 16 y.o. People are just as responsiboe as 18 y.o.
Here in brazil we discuss the opposite, we want the driving and the criminal age to 16 y, and the way the way things are going imply that maybe it will actually change and that would be really good. It would be easier for many parents for parents like mine, as they barely have time to deop me off at school or take me somewhere. Great powers, great responsabilities, and i think we have it.

Depends on the system in the country one is referring to, how congested the roads are, past trends and examples of accidents involving drivers perhaps 16-18 years old (which might indicate a correlation between age and driving ability), and if the government wants to play it safe/go with a more popular view using these precedents.
Yes I believe 18 should be the legal driving age. At 16 kids are just not responsible enough.
Yes, because 18 is the true age of independence in the US. I feel like you shouldn't be able to travel to that extent if you aren't legally on your own. Plus, you're much more careless at 16. Granted, I've seen some careless driving over 18, too.
I don't think it should be 18. I know I was perfectly capable of driving when I was that age. I helped teach my brother and he drives fine. My sister is about to take her drive test in a few weeks and she's a great driver.
I don't think age is the best indicator though. There are just some people who don't take things as serious and are more reckless. Those are the ones you find pulled over or worse, causing accidents.
What's my definition of success?
Creating something no one else can
Being brave enough to dream big
Grindin' when you're told to just quit
Giving more when you got nothin' left

No. There are kids with neglectful or abusive parents who need to drive themselves to school or work. Pretty sure most fatal driving incidents don't happen because the driver was young, anyway - they happen because the driver was drunk or sleepy (not saying all, just most). Hell, when I first started driving at 15/16, I was actually more careful just because I was absolutely scared shitless that I would mess up.
