So, I'm relatively new to the cheating scene, and I'm okay with just about everything. The only thing that makes me uncomfortable is the prospect of dealing with (breaking into/selling) active accounts.
I suppose that I'm okay with everything else (buying/selling inactive accounts, legit pets/points, etc) because I feel that no one is being HURT in the process. I've been hacked before and it made me really unhappy. Frankly, I just don't think any amount of profit can justify victimizing someone that way...
What are your thoughts on this?
And if you do deal with active accounts, do you ever feel guilty at all?
I will never intentionally buy items from active accounts or try to steal things from people who play actively. I've been cheating on Neo for a long, long time but that is something I have never done. I don't see the point I guess, I mean, yeah you can secure it but any high-end pets and what not that are stolen usually get reported, accounts get frozen, and returned to the owner. Plus it's someone's time and effort - and in the case of NC, their money.
And I just don't like stealing people's stuff they are actively using. If a UC is on an old account and probably going to be purged, why not bring it back into the market? There are enough of those around that I don't think people's active stuff needs to be messed with.
Also, I'm sour on the idea because I was scammed out of money before when someone sold me a recently stolen pet (they claimed it was legit). I wasn't familiar with the pet so I didn't realize anything was wrong until the stolen pet boards popped up. I felt bad about the whole thing, plus lost a lot of money. So meh.

I looted an active account just before the altador cup started. I felt bad after icing it (by refering people on the boards here). I thought of how they won't be able to play altador cup anymore, something which I enjoyed 4 years ago (when KI won the cup) and way before I did anything illegit. I felt particularly bad when the account isn't even big, making it a really easy kill. It was honestly just someone out there trying to have fun at neopets, and I ruined it for him.
It's one thing feeling satisfactory getting away with a huge active, knowing that it's a huge challenge against the owner and TNT, but another thing feeling rotten killing someone who won't fight back. I didn't participate in the altador cup this year, bought VIP but never used the SSer as well. Unfortunately I'm not numb to that feeling yet.
Only time I got into an active, the person wouldn't freaking answer my neomails about a pet i wanted fo theirs, not even an "it's not uft."
So I got into their account and got the name and the two 2L pets on it frozen, yay!
seriously I tried not to get it frozen though D:
I can say for myself that I don't feel bad anymore.
When I first started I didn't even really feel bad, but there was also a little voice like "shit, what if it was me"
Now its sort of like @Drizzy said, I don't even give it a second thought.
The only thoughts I have now are how much I can get out of it.
Sounds callous, but it is what it is
Edit: @goodieboy made a good point about the "small time" accounts.
I will tend not to mess with these, mainly just because its usually not worth the effort.
But with the really big/nice ones, its a different story.

I'd feel pretty awful, I'm all for cheating to improve your own account/make money but when it comes at the direct expense of others...not cool. I'd hate it if it were my account.
