You can block them, but I think it's against their rules.

I have cookies on my computer that are labeled with things like "adsblocked" and "adshidden", and I've been doing it for a while so they must at least know I'm doing it...

Normally the ones on the side of the screen are just ads for clothes because I'm always online shopping and then this lube one came up and I was so shocked haha

As far as breaking the rules go, TDN and JN both have guides on how to block the ads for multiple browsers. Since they're both subject to Neopets T&C, if adblocking was not allowed these fansites wouldn't be allowed to post how to do it.

The ads normally don't bother me, usually there just dumb and I don't really care if neo has ads or not. I've actually had a lot of ads for alcohol too

I see SO many inappropriate ads on that site... Asian dating! Tampons! Half-naked models groping each other!
... I've even seen subtle porn ads. ._.

You see everything that DOESN'T belong on a family site.
