Need some quick help with calming down a crying child?

So it's almost midnight and my next door neighbor asked me to watch her 2 year old kid because her dad was rushed to the hospital for some reason.... She said she should be back by two and that her son probably wouldn't wake up, but he did and now he's crying. I've never ever babysat in my whole life or even been around a kid younger than nine and he started to cry and I have no clue what to do? I tried playing with him and he wouldn't stop crying, I don't know what to feed him if he's hungry, and his diaper doesn't need to be changed, so what could possibly be wrong?

He is probably just overly tired, hence all the crying and fussing. Adults will just go to sleep if they're really tired, but babies/toddlers have a tendency to fuss and cry instead.

I don't have very good advice 'cause I'm still young, but when my little brother threw crying fits, I'd usually turn on some cartoons and for food I'd usually give him some cut up fresh fruit, maybe some cheese, or dry cereal, and he would quiet down eventually.

I mean, you say it's almost midnight, and most toddlers are asleep by that time. So he's most likely just grumpy and needs to be put back to rest.

Do you think it's a good idea if I turn on the tv with him and give him some Cheerios or something?

It's worth a shot. Trying won't hurt, and the worst that can happen is he doesn't quiet down.

Alright, I'll try it. If he doesn't stop I'll just have to wake up my mom and ask her for help or something haha

Pour a lil vodka in the bottle.

HAHA I wish I could, my parents said they used to give me a tiny bit of whiskey when I had toothaches. I don't know if that's smart or they were just shitty parents
