Not really. Think of it as a blog-vlog-Instagram-spotify-in-one. You get to follow people and what contains their blog will be shown on your dashboard. Then you have the option to Like/Comment/Reblog.
Ok, Ive decided to join Tumblr, I've never had one and been on the site about 5 times in my life but everyone seems to be banging on about it.
Is it really just what it seems, posting blogs about yourself or is it more?

reblogging is the main thing.
plethora of pictures/gifs everywhere. anything you could imagine. you can search tags and come up with a whole lot of content you might be interested in to reblog. and yeah people use it to blog personal stuff but usually they start off gathering a few followers etc.

soooooooooooo blogging then...
I miss myspace days
Tumblr has some of the funniest photosets I've ever seen. It's where giffing becomes somewhat of an art form. Amazing stuff. You'll find fandoms for pretty much anything you can think of on it, too.
Hate the reposters who try to steal your work, though.
I loveee Tumblr <3
That awkward when you already said "moment" in your head before you read it
I love my tumblr. I find so much useless shit to keep me occupied.
yeah tumblr is legitimately hilarious and witty. you'll love it
Agreed on the hilarity of GIFs. There isn't much conversation or textual engagement like you would expect with standard blogging--makes fandom related activities a bit more disjointed (though most are moving to Tumblr anyway).
