Is there a difference between genned items and legit items? Kinda curious about this.
Well if you want to get technical, every item is genned, but genned usually is referring to items that were illegitimately genned via a glitch or exploit. Legit is earned with hard earned neopoints.
What I'd really like to know is how easily spotted by TNT or if there are actually really any difference.
Each item has a unique id # this is just a primary key in the mysql db with a auto increment field however due to the way mysql works i do not think it would be possible to have 2 items with the same id (it would throw a sql error) I would assume anyway...
The difference does not exist. One genned item looks exactly like a regular item. The only thing is that for items such as SUAP, where only a few were released, TNT has a precise number of ids. They know they release a such numbers in the Smuggler's Cove, for example, so any other ids are therefore genned items. But they can't know which one and that's when the user's precaution get in. You need to be VERY careful with genned items as TNT are always on the watch.
I see, thanks guys! If those people exploiting the genning of items then genned 1k items such as snorkle snout, bag of peanuts etc would their chances of being caught be the same?
Probably not since they are 1 use items
in a glitch a LONG time ago i had traded a hypno helm for something, done remember what. it ended up coming back to me, i lost the item i traded and than an hour later i had 2 hypno helms in my inventory.
somethingl ike that -- dont really remember, but i always wondered what happened to people who bought the one. it was a majo glitch on the site, people were talking about it for weeks
I've never heard of genned items before... hmmm, theres really exploits like that? none that are still active i suppose :/
