neopets is still a thing. they switched owners in august-ish (viacom owned them previously) and now JumpStart is running the show.

in september they had a transition, which basically migrated the information that runs neopets to JumpStarts servers, and there was a huge duping fiasco that basically "ruined" the economy of the site, for a short time. it's still up in the air, but it's slowly recovering.

however, there's been massive lag ever since the transitions, and sometimes the site is down completely ((you need an account to see links)). you'd think that the game would be fixed after almost 4 months of this shit, but it doesn't seem like TNT knows what they're doing. they're still playing god and never really acknowledging the players either, and it's really, really annoying.

Yeah the game is not what it used to be, but honestly Viacom was the biggest mistake for Neopets. JumpStart has had Neopets for a short time and is already making changes, adding new stuff to the game to spark interest again. They are slowly recovering from Viacom's time.

I'd say the economy is pretty much back to normal after the duping fiasco. SuAP and MSPP are not really being sold or traded for now but all other items are.
