Are you sure the alternator is actually fucked up? Because you do know that mechanics are 2nd biggest snakes next to lawyers. They are made up of 95% bullshit 4% car knowledge and 1% attitude. So honestly before you dish out the $450 take it to a friend or honest mechanic if one in your area can be found. I know they are few and far between but still. My family has been in the industry for... too damn long and we have heard it all.

If it means going back to school for another 4 years after I graduate, being a total loser who studies 10 hours a day to get that 4.0 to graduate with distinction, fight my way into a prestigious med school another 4 years, graduate and kill fellow med grads to enter a specialist residency, tacking on another 2-3 years, then work 12 hrs/day and 7 days/week, eating packs of 10 cent ramen and stealing clothes from the thrift shop so I can make you a walking fashion house that is a mortal goddess and envied by all men, then so be it.
