Robert Downey Jr. His sarcasm mixed with almost superhero feats is quite entertaining.

I'm a huge Sherlock Holmes fan. I've read all of the books and short stories multiple times, they're my favourite things to read hands down.

For me, the best is Benedit Cumberbatch. The series of "Sherlock" so far have been great and the modern twist is something different. Hoping they will bring out the new series soon (anyone know when it's scheduled for? I know filming is due to end on the 3rd episode sometime soon).

I especially like the way that he portrays the social awkwardness that Sherlock Holmes has yet still cares for his partner Watson in his own way.

I wish there were more than 3 episodes per series, though.

Not sure when it is out but Derren Brown has been seen filming with them

I see you have an opinion?

Nice mate, although I'm not sure what that could involve!

I used to like Derren Brown but more recently I'm not so fond. Still excited for the new series though

A few of the old Sherlocks are missing Personally, I hold Jeremy Brett's depiction as the best, because it feels closest to Doyle's. But Cumberbatch's Sherlock is a whole new kettle of fish, it being set in modern times with modern equipment and centering on Sherlock's sexy quirks instead of the mystery. Both are equally valid and go in their own directions and I love both of the depictions dearly

Robert Downey Jr. just feels off for some reason...

    Because he's American.
And he has a secret suit of armor to blast his enemies when he can't deduce the answer.

    Option 2, definitely.

I like RDJ's energy and mad scientist/manic take; it's the quicksilver wit and dialogue delivery, along with a bit of slapstick humor.

Benedict's Sherlock is a thing of beauty.

I think both are believable takes on Sherlock, but that brittle acerbic intelligence--along with the way that Watson has been portrayed--that give Benedict the edge.

Also, Moffat. Nothing can conquer that dialogue...

Benedict. I don't really like him in anything else but he plays Sherlock the best.

Cumberbatch is the embodiment of a bowl of oatmeal. Jonny Lee Miller gets my vote.
