How do I prevent getting hacked?

Hi everyone! I'm new to the community. my best friend was a hacker, but was recently frozen and quit. At any rate, I'm looking on advice to prevent getting hacked/frozen. I don't cheat, so that's not the kind of advice i'm looking for. Rather, I'm wondering if there are any precautionary measures i can take to secure my account. my password is already long, includes upper and lower alpha and numeric characters, and is unique to neopets. My email account is fully secured with secondary verification. I have a PIN for everything. What else can I do to make my account secure? I saw that some of the people on these forums can directly hack accounts; how is that possible?

You guys seem pretty cool compared to the neoboard/reddit/*****/d2jsp community. The former two are way too fucking anal retentive and prudish, and the latter two don't really exist out of business transactions. I look forward to making friends here.

Forgive the typos; I'm on my iPhone

You can't really prevent it, fortunately

    Here is a small example.

Same case where you want to prevent someone from breaking into your house. You can add an alarm. You can add a giant fence that runs around your house with barbed wire at the top. Two bull terriers to accompany the perimeter. A bunch of locks on each door.

But then you must realize, there is no alarm that cannot be disarmed. There is no dog that will withstand being put to sleep. There is no fence too high to climb or break through. And of course, there is no lock that cannot be picked.

    What Joe said.

Oh and try to not name other forums here...it's against the rules. Joe must have missed it.

It doesn't matter how good your password is, we have it. Just change it once a week, and change your pin too. It's good to change your email address once in a while too, if the same one is on the account too long, we can ticket TNT and get your account. There's people that also can get your up to the minute password, so even these precautions won't ward off everyone, but it's the best you can do.

It's just competing forums we have an issue with.

Thanks, guys. Does all of the aforementioned apply to PINs as well? i.e., are PINs essentially useless if someone reqlly wants to hack your account?

yikes. So one more question.. you see those high-profile players like gundam_grl, who also appears to be a megabitch of sorts. How can she have so many haters and still not be hacked?

Why are you so afraid? It's kinda hard to get your account hacked. You must have something REALLY expensive to be worth the risk.
