    Most used languages... for what?

A lot of the neopets programs at clraik are made in C# and VB.NET. GreaseMonkey scripts are written in JavaScript. Python and Java programs are more popular neopets programming languages on other cheating forums.

If im not mistaken JAVA is used for neopets . I guess

But Thanks for the answer really gave me a straight off idea on how these languages relate.

I hope to learn one someday . But I should start slow and from there start advancing.
Little by little will accomplish this task of mine.

Thats what I am in the process of doing now.
    I'm learning Python.
The best way to go about it in my opinion is to just learn the language in general first.
Instead of going right into making neopets programs.
That way you actually know what your doing.

objective-c was, for lack of a better phrase Relatively Obscure, until iOS came out.

I recommend getting into a language based on its capabilities.

For instance: if you like mathematics, python might be appropriate.

if you're into botting: python is considered optimal for its string-manipulation capabilities.

if you want to make 3D games: C++ wouldn't be a bad idea, nor would Java; but... keep in mind memory and platform release capabilities.

if you want to program drivers: look into C++ and/or C

some languages are more appropriate than others, depending on what you wish to do; but: the most important thing is to pick a language, and stick with it, learn the basics before moving on to another- as this list from TIOBE shows trends and these may change at any given time.

Likewise, worthy of adding: is that there are some FORTRAN/COBOL programmers earning in excess of 100k a year USD simply because not a lot of people know how to program in those languages and they're not at the top of the TIOBE index.

As many headaches as programming can be at times; work on a project you're interested in, so you stay motivated and passionate about what you're doing. And just stick with it. Computer Science happens to be one of the highest drop-out majors, ever. So keep that in mind when picking a language/project. Just stick with it, and have fun.
