Is there any reason we always use crap singers? I always thought it was only new bands ect allowed but we used bonnie tyler and shes like 60 years old or something and not had a hit for about 40 years. Why not Adelle or someone half decent?

Because we might win and it would take all the funny element out of it

Well, you can't deny that Ireland and the UK WEREN'T very good for like 40 years straight, before the 2000's came and both RTE and BBC seemed to stop caring about the contest.

But Sweden is the country that is most obsessed with ESC still, and they've placed in my top 10 MUCH more than any other country.
Once ESC week comes by, there isn't a newspaper that doesn't have something about Eurovision written on it, and I think(correct me if I'm wrong), the national final for Sweden (Melodifestivalen) attracts more Swedish viewers than the ESC itself.

The rules are the song which is entered cannot of been released before September the year before. As far as I know this is the only rule. Anyone can enter.

I do agree with Jolz though. If the UK won it would take the fun out of it.
