Kind of confused here... what reasoning? I'm not at all certain but I'd guess that at least 95% of people who've won a staff or wand already had the quest #50 item in their possession (or had worked out an agreement with other collectors) before the quest was even given. The only consistently winning strategy for this game is to collect rare items before hand.

And yeah, I know it's already said but it was indeed pcdcr who won. The thread was rather boring considering what happened.

I just meant that you could happen to luck into everything. Like the moon the stars and the sun align to where the items you have to get are readily available, relatively cheap, and when you start the quest a user is online to sell them to you. Or of course you could just happen to have everything like you said

If you have the funds and patience to actually get 90+% of the r99s, then it can actually be an investment. If you can get up to 99% or so, which is where the top questers are, then it makes sense. You have to replace the things you use, but with wands at well over 300m, it's very rare that you would spend more on the quests than the outcome is worth. Similar to being in a mall, initial investment of a giant shop and items, replace what sells, profit.
