Doing homework at the moment and I have nothing to procrastinate with, so come and chat with me.

I'm currently thinking about taking a break from school, probably only a semester, to go live in France with my sister (who will be studying there next year). Do you guys think I should do it, or is school more important anyway ? I do plan on going back to school when I get back as I only have a year left of studies before getting to University.

I think it will be harder to travel while I'll be in University, but I'm still unsure if it's a great idea to stop school for a while, as I may be lazy to go back lol.

As long as you have a very particular set of skills, skills you have acquired over watching many movies.

I'm truly wondering if watching those kind of movies would be of any help

Jokes aside, there is no wrong choice in your situation, but it is situational:

If you're killing school now and are confident you can maintain it when you return, why not?
If your grades are shaky, I wouldn't. Some Uni registrars will question why you took a break + had bad grades, won't look good in admissions.

Depending on your province, it may/may not be tricky to take a break from school (high school?).
Where I went, it was pretty rigid; very few people could officially cut school. You'd need a good reason to, like getting shot or something.

If you take a break now, when you return, you'll be a semester/year behind your friends.
Unless you're cool with being a loner or have buddies in the grade under you, consider that.

Since University (in Canada at least) officially runs from September - April, you'll have 4 months anyways to do whatever (unless you work/volunteer/take spring+summer classes, etc.), like travel.
Better months, less stress, everything still on schedule.
Thus I think it'd be easier to travel while in Uni, just not during your studies.

I'm living in Quebec, so basically, I'm done with High School. We have something here called ''Cegep'' which is an in-between high school and university. If I get back for january's semester, I still can do basic courses until the september one starts.

And I don't have any real friends anymore since they got jealous and whatsoever last year, so I don't care at all being a year behind them. It would actually be quite better.

    Poutine muncher.

Don't run around Paris yelling 'TABARNAK!' if you know what's good for you.

I don't even say it here, so no worries haha.

    And poutine's so good. It's a shame I can't eat cheese.
