    NYC~

My mom and I are going to NYC (Manhattan) at the end of June for a day. Neither of us have gone before, so what type of things should we check out while we're there? I have no idea what to do so I'm totally open to suggestions.

if you're from pa like your thingy says, then you should just go through some of the basic tourist shit. Times square is cool if you're there at night, the statue of liberty even though it's a bit of a drive to get to, the empire state building is cool but i highly recommend skipping the official tour of it as it's a gigantic tourist trap. Since your mom is going with you, I assume clubs and things of that nature are out of the question. The 9/11 memorial is pretty interesting as well. That's about all you could realistically fit into a day trip, and even then you'll be fairly pressed for time.

Well we'll be there from 11am to 11pm. I already told her we're not doing any tour thing we're just going to explore on our own. lol.

Eating: Pizza, don't go to places like Dominos or something. I say John's Pizza (careful, it gets busy) if you're around Times Square. If not, any pizza place has decent pizza, especially 1.00 dollar pizza. Get a bagel for breakfast, NYC has good bagels... Katz Deli is good for corned beef sandwiches (it looks busy but it only takes around 5-10 minutes getting your food.) Hot dogs are pretty good. I'd go to Dylan's Candy Shop if you like sweets, like someone said above the 9/11 memorial is great.
