Windows 8 is alright. It functions more like an operating system for a tablet than a laptop which is frustrating as hell.
There are a few little shortcut keystrokes that I have picked up that make things much easier.
It doesn't center around the desktop anymore, the main place is now the "start" screen with the tiles.
Imo, you can't really get the full experience without a touchscreen. But I'm hoping they release something so we can have the option to make the interface what we are used to. I can deal with it, just because I've changed some settings to make it center on the desktop more.
Let me know if you need any help or pointers on it. I can at least show you a few nifty things I have picked up so far
Is it a good idea to downgrade to Win 7?
    I was considering that, too...

If not, please begin to tell me more about 8-- Im gonna need to study. xD

I considered going for Windows 7, but in the end I decided to just got for Windows 8 and get a touchscreen.
I'm hoping they push out a few updates for it soon-ish.

I'm not sure what browser you use, but I use chrome.
At first, it opened full screen and I couldn't figure out why. But apparently you have to relaunch it in desktop mode I believe it is.
There's 2 different modes, Win 8 and desktop mode. Win 8 mode is more like a tablet app pretty much, which was frustrating as hell at first!

Also, you can "pin" certain things to the explorer bar on the desktop.
At first there wasn't really ANYTHING on the desktop. SO I pinned a link to the control panel on the explorer bar.
Then I pulled a shortcut to "my computer" onto the desktop.
I also use notepads a lot for my neo stuff or just for keeping random notes from things.
So if you hit the "window" key + R you can open to run menu. There are a few other shortcuts like that I have memorized just because it's sooo much easier.
    What's my definition of success?
Creating something no one else can
Being brave enough to dream big
Grindin' when you're told to just quit
Giving more when you got nothin' left

    Wow that helps a bunch!

So if I'm getting this Asus, supposedly it's easier to convert to 7 than other models.
Think it would be too much hassle?
    I really love 7 ;3;

It's easy to switch to 7 regardless, you would just have to find a copy of 7 haha
check out 8 and then decide later!
