When improving technology becomes annoying ...

I need to find an usb keyboard for someone who has an ancient pc that weirdly enough only has USB connections.
Thing needs to be reinstalled, but I only have keyboards left in my home with the old fashioned plug-in-baby.
This is so utterly frustrating, because it already took me most of my morning before I got it back to a sign of life by replacing the powersupply and some other stuff ... Now I just want to throw it out of the window.
Fuck modern technology and only having laptops and fuck friends that stay behind in the old technology so you can rage when they need help on it.
    /endofcomplainingrage.

    Haha I hate computers.

I blew a power supply up last week. Was pretty fun.

A guy brought his PC in to work for me to fix (in exchange for beers) because he'd blown it up. There was a voltage switch on it, and he'd switched it whilst it was running (the dick!) and it popped and smoked.

I got an old power supply out of my store cupboard, and I noticed I'd cut the wires on one of the connectors in the past for something else. Since I don't like him I thought "fuck it" and put that one in.

30 seconds later the PC was opened up on my desk and I noticed it smoking, just as I leaned my face over it to pull the power it exploded, huge blue electrical flash and plenty of smoke. Unfortunately I had no clean boxers at work, because I SHIT MY PANTS.

Anyway, his motherboard was then dead, and I had to find an old one to repalce it with and ended up building a Frankenstein PC for him. Worth it for beer though.

Ah well, two years from your life gone by a heart attack, another 3 for the frustration and for fun another 2 for the hell of it all.

Whenever you are honestly aware of those sort of situations it's a sign you can and should fix your stuff yourself.

Try doing that in a basement when the voltage goes somewhere around 48 (or here in NL at least) other then the 220-240 normal stuff.
I'm sure that'll fuck them up nicely soon enough!

Damn, that guy's a lot more cunning than we were led on to believe.

Find shitbox from recycling depot, smash it up a bit, then go to you to try and get it fixed (knowing it's over).

    Then get a free trade-up.
