Is it just me or are some Neopians really kinda stupid?

At first: sorry for my strange English, dudes - it's just not my native language. Nevertheless I try to make everything as understandable as I can.

So. Guys, I have the feeling that sometimes the people on Neopets are... just not normal. I surfed the boards and found a thread called ''UC's are SOOO overrated!". I thought ''Alright... let's see what's written there'' and took a look. And well. All the people there were complaing about how the first poster could say something like that, how she could say that UC's are overrated and how she could prefer them being converted.
Yup. UC's are nice and I think it's totally okay that they exist, so some people with no RL or very much patience have goals and stuff. But... seriously? ''I WORKED SO HARD FOR MY UC, HOW COULD YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT THEM BEING CONVERTED?!'' that's just sick.

In my opinion Neopets has nothing to do with 'hard work' - more with patience and much, much time (or hacking skills, lol). I posted that going to the training school once in two days isn't much work and after some months people would be able to trade for (low-end) UC's. One answered ''Show me the person who traded for an UC Plushie Peo after 'some months' training!!! And YOU seem to have the time to train your pet 24/7, but I don't! It's just pathetic to say 'it's not difficult at all to get an UC' and trample on the works of others'' and I was like ''Bitch, seriously?''.
She acted like I slapped her baby in the face or something like that. I didn't even say it's easy to reach the goal of getting an UC - just, that it's more will and patience than HARD WORK. My uncle works hard, he's fireman. But sitting in front of a PC, playing games and claiming it's 'hard work'... no. Just no.

Dudes. Now please tell me: why do people there feel personally attacked THAT fast? Is it the same in the English forum?
