Anyone gamble?

A fellow british hacker freind showed me a project he has been working on lately. What it does is analyze bets online in football (soccer w/e).
If you do not know in football you can bet on practically everything , from win/draw/loose , total goals in a match under/over 1/2/3 goals. What his software does is analyze the two playing teams and finds facts about them. How many goals did they score in there last 3 matches? Have they lost the last 3 matches? Have they ever won against this team in the current football stadium? Are there star players on the bench ect.


Each team is then given a win percentage and he decides from that what to gamble on.

It is not 100% but it is profitable (almost doubling money) so it beats the odds on doing the lottery every week for instance but im still somewhat skeptical. WHat do you guys think? Ever heard of anything like this before?

That is what I was thinking .

Im running it now on paddy power.com but I did not want to risk loosing to much so I deposited �10. This is not aot of money for betting the returns are low but I havent got to much money to test on this ;p.

It told me to do this:
Qatar v Lebanon - Qatar to win and 1 or 2 total goals in the match @ 1.25 - �10
Result = Qatar 0 - 0 Lebanon
New Balance = �12.50

Bangu U20 v Nova Iguacu FC U20 - 1st Half Under 1.5 Goals @ 1.33
Result = Bangu U20 0 - 1 Nova Iguacu
New Balance = �16.67

NK Olimpija Ljubljana v Rosenborg BK-neutral - 1st Half Draw 0 - 0 @ 1.36
Result = Olimpija Ljubljana 0 - 0 Rosenborg BK
New Balance = �22.73


Final result:
�22.73

Well apparently Leicester v Wolves is a sure fire win for Leicester odds are at 1.50 so every �10 you get �15 back... Starts in about 40 minutes. We will see...

� = British Pounds but yeah 34 return from �10... This is not alot as I was not willing to risk alot on someone elses code. Me and Joe will whip something up made by ourselves before I trust it fully .

And yes it is rather hit and miss for a second lecister was 1-1 and I thought I had lost it all but they scored and took it to 2-1 so all good. It seems to win alot more than it looses so with some very disciplined gambling you could probly just say to yourself "I will only deposit �10 a week to gamble with , from this whenever I hit �60 I will cashout my winnings. Also I will never speand more than �10 in a single bet so if the program does make a mistake , we will not loose our entire weeks stake (uness you loose your first bet of the week then ur s.o.l).

The probem is sticking to these rules. I may make a program to actually place my bets for me to make sure I never get tempted to go on a crazy gambling spree.
