Fancy gui are a distraction by shitty programmers. If your program is good it wont need a fancy gui , the features will talk for itself.
...Also why make a fancy gui for a avater grabber. You are not inventing the wheel here sorry but dont waste your time on a fancy gui , bang this program out then work on the next one..
What I was trying to say was that many people are more inclined to using a visually attractive program. For example take Microsoft Office. People prefer this over the free alternative Open Office, one of the main reasons is the GUI. I'm not just talking about looks, either. I'm talking about how the GUI plays a role with the main code behind the interface, and it's packed with helpful tools and features that other programs don't have.
But you're right. All of my apps that I make for myself to use have default usercontrol looks, no customized settings to make them look any different. All I really care about is for it to work. But when I release apps, I know people will want something that stands out, something that looks fun to play around with.

I just hate seeing apps that took more wok in photoshop than in the actual ide.... lol. Its like a pet hate of mine I have always had stick of people fo my ugly guisthen I made Rare Buyer , witch was open source and anyone who as seen it will attest to the mess of the code for gui reasons.
Heres what my apps today look like:
Yet this is a np gen / account builder controllable via webrowser (even ur phones) and linked to a sql database for logs/statistics ect/

I was actually inspired by Rare Buyer back a few years ago when I first saw it. Rare buyer wasn't that long ago ive been coding since I was about 12 we made codex a few years later.... 26 now lol.
My first program was called NHS , it was a collection of cheats via a webbrowser back in the day when poogle solitaire (or w.e it was) was still a game...

Well, in terms of artisticness... I'll show you a sample of one of my bots, a twitter one in fact.
PHP straight to Console, even though my console is embedded in my app. My PHP based Altador Plot Bot works the same way.
The good news is, I can upload any of these to any server that supports PHP. Though the Altador Plot Birdy part may have time issues there. =P

The ide is nice though php for bots like that seems strange most host dont like intensive curl scripts running.
My bot uses php too but only in the front end site (very early version)
