Just a question about rep notifications

It seems that whenever I receive a reputation point, I receive two notifications even when just one person has repped me -- does this happen to everyone, or is it like that "ghost" visitor message glitch? It has been happening for quite a while. xD

where it says 2 new reputation?
i always thought that was the amount, but i think that's wrong. I think it must be a glitch or something. We will check it out!

It's the amount that the person repped you I think. So if I +2 rep, you get two notifications and if I +1 rep, you get one notification. I think that's how it is, but I could be wrong.

No matter the amount of rep it always shows up as 2 notifications here, so I think it's the same as the ghost message
