how would you try to raise the price per million of neopoints?

i was just bored, and this popped into my head, what if a single person could control the inflation/deflation of neopoints, and what if that person were me, and i wanted to make neopoints more valuable, like they were back in the early days, how would i go about doing that?

first off it occurred to me that i'd have to regulate the access to np making programs (scoresenders, autoplayers, etc etc), by some means of either making them extremely restricted to public, or by removing them completely

secondly i'd need patience, and i would have to wait until everyone got done trying to find ways around #1, eventually everyone would either start passing around cracked versions of progs, or they would try to make them on their own, on the latter part, i'd wanna make some type of highly restrictive group where, all we did was watch for people coming up with those progs, and try to convince them otherwise, or bring them into the group, which is also the *only* *major* group of np sellers, all selling at a single, unanimous price

    thirdly.......???????

    and lastly, profit!
just report it and ignore it.

One of the problems is, the supply is still out there, hoarded on thousands/tens of thousands of accounts. You would have to include the patience of that running out as well first. Especially with large amounts, people would sell that at fairly cheap per mil, then the next person reselling it a little higher, but probably not high enough to satisfy with the market still being flooded.

exactly where #2 comes into play, patience would be the huge key there, along with either buying those people out, or bringing them into the "group" if they had a large enough stockpile

this is all purely theoretical hypothesis's here, it is what it is, one person controlling a specific situation, and how they would do that

I would agree with @(you need an account to see links) that it would be hard to diminish the current supply, and I'm sure that if you did this there would be people selling and buying in secrecy
Keeping a consistent price for varying legitimacies would end up a problem as well

just takes time, eventually all those people buying/selling in secret would either run out, or would be bought out, or assimilated, i'm not saying my thing would be overnight, it's probably take a year or more, but i think it's like wearing the buyers/sellers down slowly enough would work

Well I DID hold up the rate at $2/m and got other forums agreeing to this policy I thought of and implemented.

The fact that you have to implement a 2$/m limit yourself is a sign of the economy's decay in itself. Even now people are selling for 1.75, 1.6, etc. here and there. Neopets needs more users and then that number will go back up to 4.

Agreed, because there's a significantly smaller number of players in the game who are out to buy neopoints rather than casually earn their own through legit gameplay, there's much more illegit np around to be sold than buyers who want to purchase them...?
