Do torrents have viruses?

My favourite old method was to google:
Song Name.mp3 site:mediafire.com
Album Name.zip/rar site:mediafire.com

Now mediafire is so strict. I torrent everything

Oh I mean I DL from tpb and usually only choose ppl with the skull, is that reliable
