i'd go for it.
edit: p.s. i have no idea what i'm talking about.
... a dealer at the casino, hmm.
So we are hoping to be opening table games early next year(April-ish).
Dealer classes start early January and end the end of March.
I would need to still work my current potion, and go to school 4 hour a day every day for 12 weeks to get the certificate thing.
I don't know whether I should go that route and finish up my degee later on, or get my degree now and probably skip out on the whole dealer thing.
They said a conservative number would be $55k a year, high end would be $85k-$100k+ a year.
Those are definitely some pretty tempting numbers for something so fun and easy.
Toss up.
Anybody have any experience with any of this stuffs?

Yeah I kinda wanna go for it.
It's something different and pretty awesome imo.
My thinking is I can always finish my degree later.
But I would have something to fall back on with this... or even be able to do it part time and bring in an extra $30k a year on the side. -shrug-
Idk, just kinda through all my plans in a loop lol

mhm, with the economy the way it is, any money is good money c:
go for it.
you could probably keep a little money to the side to help pay for your degree too. (assuming you have to pay for it)

This can depend on a lot of things. How much do you care about finishing up your degree in the near future? If you do the dealer thing you should try taking an online class or an actual class or two if you're local to a school.

Think of it this way, if it'll benefit you and look good on your resume, why not?

Well, I would like to get my degree, ultimately.
My original plan wasn't to stay at the casino FOREVER.
I'll have my parents helping me pay for school. But I'm thinking working this job would let me work and make a decent sum of money while letting me finish up my degree later down the line. That would put me at seriously starting back to school in about a years time, which is doable; I'm only 21 atm.
That is true as well.
This is like the first full time job I have had. Everything else is just part time here or there.
Like I get health/dental/vision, 401k, etc etc... so it would look good on a resume. Especially since by the time tables open I will have probably done just about every job in the casino and know how everything runs.
It's just gonna be tough to set everything else aside and knock this out first.

Do the dealer training and ask if you can finish your degree first before being hired full time.
If you can't get the special offer than go for it. I know I would.

My brother is a dealer at a casino.
Very tiring hours, and have to put up with people.
