    I lost the Maxcogo-Paypal Dispute

Got 4 emails in total of that nature on the date of 9-26-2012. My full name and home address were used in the paypal account I signed up with. Turns out I somehow owe $460+ in total when the amount I lost to Maxcogo was $360. I really don't want to be dealing with this bullshit, but my main concern right now is:

What's gonna happen if I don't pay them?

Are they going to call a debt collection agency? In that scenario, what can I do? How much of a damage will this do to my credit history? I am pretty certain I never gave them my SSN.

    Thanks for all responses.

And yes, if it is of any incentive I shall rep+ all who care to leave a useful post.

They will call you if the amount is more than 500$, and will contact you via e-mail, but regardless of what they would like for you to believe they cannot force you to do anything. They do not have the legal right to charge your card or bank account so you have nothing to worry about minus finding a new PayPal account.

Going to stop googling Paypal chargeback cases... keep seeing the dreaded words "collection agency" and "ruined credit history" -_-

holy crap... that's really awful -_- But a collection would SERIOUSLY damage your credit score for a period of 7 years, so I would definitely get a firm grasp on how paypal deals with these things

Been about 400$ in debt to them since 2002 , never had any letters and when i got a new bank card i was able to reuse paypal on a new account. However when I tried to transfer some money to my bank from paypal they did some sort of checks and detected I owed them money on a previous account so canceled the transfer.

Really no issues other than that though and it did not effect my credit rating.
