    The Alchemist by Paolo Cuelo...its just a stunning book. Beautifully written too.

    If you have a lot of time to read, I recommend Isaac Asimov Foundation series.
    Also recommend: Ender's Game series.

    Truly the greatest (most hilariously awful) book I've read recently is

    ZOMBIE MOON, the steamy story about a woman trying to survive a zombie apocalypse and track down her missing sister. She joins forces with a devilish rogue (who happens to be a werewolf, no big deal) and they proceed to kill zombies and do some sex.

    I'd definitely suggest go ask alice and all of the books by ellen hopkins.
    She's one of my absolute favorite authors, I love her style of writing and it's easier to get into (to me) because they're based on real life situations/things I've been through.
