    College Algebra Problem. Will +Rep!!

    Perform the indicated operation and simplify if possible by combining like terms. Write the result in standard form.
    (4w^3 − 3w + 8) + (5w^3 + 6w^2 − 1)

    can anyone help me figure this out?

    I don't remember much of algebra except you multiple to first number by all the ones in the second parenthesis, then the second number by the number in the right parenthesis, then the 3rd then put them together, correct? I havent taken algebra in a few years and haven't had college yet. but I'll give it a shot

    Thanks Oh how I miss math. I don't have to take algebra for my degree.
    But when multiplying with ^# you multiple the number before the variable, then add the power. then run all of them and add or subract them together using the +/- infront of them.

    alright thanks for the help bud! im taking an online college algebra class so i kinda learn the stuff myself and its kinda more difficult than i thought it would be

    It's 9w^3 + 6w^2 - 3w + 7.

    You are just adding the like terms, not multiplying anything. Pretty simple.

    Awe crap, Carrot is right, I did it as if the + sign wasnt there. I did it as if it was (4w^3 − 3w + 8) (5w^3 + 6w^2 − 1)
