These aren't proper credentials but there are a lot of programming courses, so if you are self-taught and want some sort of certificate behind it this may or not be handy.
I'm doing one just for interest sake, and I wish I knew about this before I started university to get some basic knowledge/experience on the course prior to enrolling and on how to study/write/research at university standards.
