What is the best way to train your pet?

    Hi,

I am starting up a new main and wish to start training a pet up so it has even stats and is always 'trainable'

I don't fully understand the whole trainable, untrainable stuff with pets, so I just want to ask what the best way to train your pet is?

At the moment I am just levelling the pet with codestones, with the HSD untouched.

    Thanks

    the mystery island training school.
    it uses codstones.

basically train level first to level ~15.
then you can train strength, health, and defence to ~30.
    then train level > hsd x 2 each > level > hsd x 2 each ectect.

this way you dont cross into the higher bracket and have to pay more codestones.

This is what I have found most helpful for me:

    1) Swashbuckling Academy - It requires dubloons, which are cheaper than codestones, but it takes longer to train, so I use this to train my pet when I'm not going to be online or regularly available, aka sleeping or at work. So, I'll put my pet in before I go to sleep or work, so that when I get back it should have completed its course. (Also, it only goes up to level level 40, but once you're past that you won't need this anymore anyway!)

    2) Mystery Island Training School - I use this to train throughout the days that I know I'm going to be online or regularly able to visit my computer to train my pet.

    3) Faerie Quest Cookies - If you have the extra cash to spend on NC, training your pet daily with these is extremely helpful because it's nearly always cheap training!

    4) Lab Ray - I avoid the lab ray because it often just removes stats that you just trained, and who wants to spend more NP than necessary?

I also recommend training your pet's health, strength, defence, and movement/agility. Although agility is often frowned upon for training, I train it because there is one helpful weapon that requires agility to be above 200. If you don't plan on using that weapon though, then I wouldn't bother training it.

Also, keep in mind that you can only train your pet's stats 2 times the level. Example: Level 10 can give you str/def/mov/hp at 20, level 20 gives you 40 at the stats, ect. So don't train the level higher than necessary so you're not spending more NP paying for more codestones or higher costing dubloons.

You CAN train your health 2.5 times the level at Mystery Island Training School but NOT Swashbuckling Academy. I recommend doing that AFTER you've surpassed level 40 and even 80's for the other stats doing my method above. Otherwise, you'll have to train your pet only at Mystery Island with codestones.

Not really, just 140m or so. It's also about 400 times faster. Training to even 700's would take years of straight, on the ball, no delays training through codestones.

Yeah, I figure I'd rather bust my ass making neopoints 24/7 than have to set alarms throughout the night to hardcore train my pet. Then you can get to the battling side of things faster.

Or you could just make a league pet and battle 2p which is more fun anyway
