One thing I noticed yesterday when I was making shells; neopets usually gives you a 'nc welcome gift', a spinning star mystery capsule. They now give you 150nc when you sign up; faerie quest fortune cookies cost 100nc. So go make some shells, get some cookies, and see if you get lucky.
