    What's a good brand for Webcam/Mic?

Went through about 2 mics in my entire life. I found they always lasted around 1 year or less, each. They weren't cheap either! Around $20-40, and the brand name was Logitech.

After a family member Skype'd me (them having both webcam and mic while I have nothing but my keyboard) I thought it would be cool to be able to webcam them back. Plus I guess I need to get a mic again anyway. Just typing to friends gets old after a while.

I would like to know of a webcam that is decent quality and will not make me look fat.
A good brand for a mic would be cool too. I'm used to using mics that have a thin headset piece.

    What do you guys use?

He's not lying mine is awesome.

But for a standalone Logitech is actually a pretty good brand. But you get what you pay for. A $20 webcam is not going to work as well as a $70 one

I've had my logitech webcam for a long time. Served me well when my boyfriend was abroad for 5 months, used it to talk on skype all the time. The integrated mic does the job.

Logitech is the way to go but the best thing to do is talk with the nerd squad/geek squad at BestBuy and they will tell you what is best for you.

But then they will offer to plug it in for you for a meager 100$?

@Mary674 So true. I feel that often times the best way to find out if a product really is good is to read up reviews written by other people who've bought and used it. Sales associates at stores will do and exaggerate enough to sell anything, even the crappy items. And their... services to help you install it.
