Unfortunately Diablo III is down at the moment and I'm unable to add certain pictures to this guide. It will be completed in roughly 3 hours.
THIS IS A KNOWN FARMING METHOD BY MANY PEOPLE
This method is really effective, and I have gotten multiple drops that are worth 500k-1mil+. I have made 65mil off a pair of Tri-Fecta gloves that dropped from one goblin.
Part 1 : Explanation
First off, there are 4 types of goblins;
Goblin, Bandit, Seeker, Pygmy
Each of these goblins have different drop rates for different items, such as yellow rares, blue rares and tome of secrets.
Here's a chart estimating which goblin drops what:
It doesn't matter what goblin you get, as long as you see a goblin you kill it and restart.
Part 2 : What to Do
The first thing to do is to select your character, and select the quest "The Black Soulstone - Part 1"
Your going to spawn in the town once you enter the game, your going to go to the way point and click the "Ancient Path" waypoint.
When your at the ancient path a variety of monsters can be there. A rare pack has a chance of spawning, but the most common types of monsters that you
will see is Whites / Normals.

What You're Going to Do
So from this point:
To this point is where your farming.
From that first red line to the second one is where the Goblins can possibly spawn. Once you reach the second point you will receive a checkpoint.
You're going to use the checkpoint to your advantage. If you do not find a goblin make sure you have reached the checkpoint then leave the game and rejoin.
You're going to spawn at the checkpoint now so you will be going into the opposite direction towards the waypoint. Once you have finished, either killing a goblin
OR not seeing one at all, you take the waypoint back to town and instantly leave the game and rejoin. This saves time and makes farming more effective.
Part 3 : Tips
WARNING : MAKE SURE YOUR FOLLOWER IS DISMISSED, HE CAN SPOOK THE GOBLIN WHEN YOU'RE NOT READY
Having Friends is Useful!
If you tell your friends about this, and they farm at the same time as you this can maximize the effectiveness of goblin farming. Once one person has found a goblin
you whisper the other person to leave their game and to join yours! This can make farming 2-3x faster then what you would be normally doing by yourself.
What Type of Gear Should You Use?
To effectively farm goblins you could switch between your DPS gear and magic gear to effectively use both.

When You See a Goblin
Make sure that ALL the other monsters around the goblin and in the area that you're farming are gone. Act II monsters are not easy, and they can easily kill Classes that are glass cannons
After you make sure there are no monsters in the surrounding area put on your magic gear!
After you are attacking the goblin try and control which direction it goes in by standing on the opposite side of him. If you successfully control the goblin you'll have an easier time killing him!
Part 4 : Farming
I'm not to sure if anyone plays Diablo III any more but if you're having a difficult time farming act 2 this is one of the easiest places to do so!
REMEMBER that farming is all luck, and the items that drop can be worth nothing or worth everything!
