Soo.. How Much Longer Do You Think Neopets Lasts?

I was just wondering what you guys thought .

4-5 years ago when I played 100% legitly, there used to usually be 100k+ players online.

Now only 15k players online, and many rich/great players keep getting iced/quitting.

Its the summer, when HS kids are on vacation!

TNT's customer service sucks, they just don't give a shit about us.

How much longer do you think neo lasts?

Also, do you guys see neopets making a come back?

Come back, no chance. Additionally, you have to consider a good chunk of the 100k online at all times was bots, autobuyers, and other crazy shit like that, to the point where people used to run multithreaded autobuyers using 20 different accounts to refresh.

While I agree neo is dying, it is more due to the fact that 1) people no longer spend all day on neo like they used to. People think that games has age groups, I consider it that games have generations. Our generation, most of the neo players, are all pretty much young adults now. That being said, if we're not busy, we're playing MMO's, shooters, or overall getting the lights boozed out of us.

Without advertising or fun things such as plot points, wars, etc. the game will never make a comeback. This was a calculated move for neopets, as it realized it was reaching the end of it's life so it went from an "expansion" marketing model to a "cash cow" marketing model, where they try to milk as much money as they can before the game crashes to it's low. I doubt it will ever completely die off though.

They need to do something to spark people's interest back into the game, that's for sure!

I wouldn't say MOST. I would say that the portion of unique cheaters on neo has probably retained on neo more than people who played legitly though.

Well it's crazy how many people play the game, but are not at all active on the boards or anything.
There are thousands of people that come on, are loaded, and nobody knows anything at all about them.
They could have billions of NPs, or TONS of old rare/valuable NC items... maybe amazing UC's, etc etc.

But I doubt neo will last too much longer. After this year, I think there will be a huge downturn in the game.
There will still be people buying things here and there, because if you just got into the game or have been poor for awhile, buying things is always gonna be there. Everyone wants to get that dream set, or finish that gallery theme, etc etc.

But I say in 2013... neo won't be much anymore.
    What's my definition of success?
Creating something no one else can
Being brave enough to dream big
Grindin' when you're told to just quit
Giving more when you got nothin' left

I think Neo has another year, maybe 2 left. What with the conversion, no plots/wars, being taken over by Viacom, the introduction of NC etc, I think Neo is on it's way out. Like Ciricus said, they've changed it from a game where they profited from advertising and stuff, it's now a cash cow and they're trying to milk every last dollar out of the site whilst there is still an interest.

It's a shame tbh, I used to love Neo, but now I only see it as a way of potentially earning a few extra
