closeness isnt that big a deal, we would likely purchase a car, or get some sort of car service, so basically anything within 20min car drive of downtown rio would be wonderful

Okay im gonna go with final answer go for Jacarepague. It's a fairly active place but it's suburbs and has fairly good scenery. Few sources says that it's an extremely safe place, and i looked up apartment rentals which is about 3.8k a month. While you were looking for a purchase, this means that apartments probably are reasonably priced to buy (since price per month usually scales off land value). Check around that area then (and while you said you don't care about distance, it's still extremely close and you may be able to avoid tons of traffic on the big day). That's all the research I can handle doing. Too much spanish websites for me for one night.

Here you go. Still at work but new day = new tolerance for finding spanish sites. This one's in english though and lists several apartments in the area i mentioned ranging from 120k USD to 300k USD. Browse around it for good deals, 3 bed 3 bath was listed at 260k (probably a bit high) but you can probably find a 4 bed 3 bath same priceish with similar features at this site.

PM me if your range does not lie under these amounts (though honestly, I think the prices aren't really are pretty realistic for any decent property in these areas)

Np. it's a gated community, my experience with these is that all the house types are the same which is 6 rooms total. That means unfortunately, the closest i can think of 4 bedroom is 4 beds 2 baths (god damn symmetry in gated communities). On the plus side, Its a gated community, almost garunteeing that the neighborhood should be safe whether it's daytime or night (atleast within the gates). The area as said previously is pretty safe though.

Both 4 bed 2 bath apartments. First is 260k, second 230k respectively. Let me know if the household types are adequate, if not, there are surely a plethora of gated communities selling property
