You're lucky. I had the most HORRIBLE experience when I got mine out. It was miserable!
How long did the dentist say the swelling will last?

potatoes the swelling usually only lasts about 2-3 days they said but if you have an infection or any complications then it can stay a little longer
I'm so glad you said it's not that bad. I'm getting mine out soon and I'm dreading it. I managed to put it off til I'm 21 but I'm in so much pain now that I can't put it off any longer :/
Sneakz same here i just turned 21 not to long ago and could handle the pain so i had to do it. The only advice i have is make sure you keep is on your cheeks it`ll keep swelling down and the pain almost non existant

I had mine out a few years ago. I went in for surgery and it was a piece of cake, simple IV needle was all it took which I would much rather have than several oral needles in my gums plus feeling the pressure of the dentist pulling the teeth out. No thanks so surgery all the way. The doc after told me my teeth were impacted so he had to crack them, hearing that made me relieved I went under so I did not have to feel any sort of pressure on my jaw or instrument sounds whatsoever lol.
I bruised on my right cheek though pretty good and the pain was unbelievable back at home. Then it got infected and that hurt even more cause you cannot even have the ice on your cheek it is so tender. The doc drained that infection then put me under again to clean the socket out. Anyone else getting theirs done definitely take my advice and gargle that antibiotic mouthwash lol.

Its really not that bad. I had mine last year out. No swelling or much bleeding afterwards. Pretty sweet. Didn't even need my painkillers.
Did you have any eating problems later?
If you're asking me. After the surgery i was confined to yoghurt and squished banana for the day. Soft foods for the next 2 days and by the fourth day post-op i was able to slowly eat semi solids again. e.g. steamed vegetables and stirfrys etc. nothing too harsh like steak or jawbreakers though. But yeah after a week i was back to normal.
